Additional Information

Each kit comes with everything you need. The receivers and switches are pre-connected for each kit. Also includes mounting screws, wire nuts, and command strips.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

Indoors Only: Switches and receiver are not weatherproof and should be used indoors; a receiver or switch installed on an outdoor light will need protection from the elements.

Pre-linked: Switches and receiver are shipped to you already linked together for a quicker installation.

Range: The range of switch is 50-150 feet from the receiver, depending on walls and barriers. Test desired distances before completing installation.

Interference: Multiple units may be used in the same home without interference. Unique radio frequency won’t interfere with other devices.

Power Supply: Receiver requires AC input. Switches are self-powered and require no power supply.

Easy Install: Our small receiver is simply wired between the power and the fixture, and then stored in the light box behind, or at the fixture location. Mount the switch anywhere with industrial tape or screws.  Also used to replace outdated, undesired current switches.

Good solution!

I purchased a basic kit to control a ceiling light on the same line I wanted to install a ceiling fan. This kit prevented the need to run a second line for the fan only. It's a costly work around but better than the alternative. In fact I just ordered two more kits, one to separate the bathroom light from the fan and a basic kit to control one receptacle that is used for lamps only

Best customer service ever!

I needed to replace the receiver in a basic single light circuit, so I contacted Illumra who supplied the original receiver. I got a rapid reply from Robert Edman, who told me I'd have to replace the handheld remote as well as the receiver. He directed me to RunLessWire, but the remote I wanted did not appear in the online catalog. Robert then got me in touch with Jenny Hunter to help locate the desired remote. I told Jenny I had given up on finding the desired remote and had ordered the Basic Kit which had already shipped. Jenny said that was no problem and they would exchange the remote I ordered for the one I wanted. She put me in touch with Rhetta Shoemaker who was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient. I now have the remote I wanted and a refund for the remote I originally ordered.
All three of these folks treated me like I was their most important customer, even though it was a very small order. I'm still not clear on how Illumra, RunLessWire, and Ad Hoc Electronics (who shipped the desired remote) fit together, but the people involved are among the best I've ever done business with.
